We are proud to announce that Project Nekton has been selected as one of the five official partners in the new relighting framework agreement (‘Raamovereenkomst Relighting‘) by the Vlaams Energiebedrijf (VEB). Within lot 1 and 2, covering the whole of Flanders, we achieved second place in the tender process – a confirmation of our quality, expertise, and approach.
This recognition means we can now carry out projects via direct award up to a value of €100,000, without the need for additional tender procedures. This makes it significantly easier and faster for organisations to work with us on sustainable lighting projects!
What does the framework agreement involve?
VEB recently launched a new framework agreement focused on relighting, aimed at replacing existing lighting installations with modern, energy-efficient solutions. The goal is to achieve energy savings, enhanced comfort, and the sustainable transformation of buildings.
The agreement is valid for an initial term of two years, with an optional one-year extension.
Direct awards up to €100,000
One of the most significant changes in this new agreement is the increased threshold for direct awards up to €100,000 (previously €30,000). This means that even larger relighting projects can now be executed more easily, without lengthy tendering procedures or delays.
The VEB also offers a unique advantage: the entire preliminary process is free of charge. As an organisation, you can submit a non-binding request, receive a site visit, and obtain a detailed quotation – all without obligations or hidden costs. Only at the end of the process do you decide whether to move forward. This reduced barrier fits perfectly with Project Nekton’s philosophy: working transparently, accessibly, and with results in mind.
Sustainability as a core principle
What also makes this new framework agreement unique is its strong focus on sustainability. In the past, lighting upgrades often required additional construction work – for example, replacing suspended metal ceilings in schools or offices. Today, there is a clear shift towards refurbishment: reusing existing structures and replacing only what is truly necessary.
This approach not only reduces waste and material consumption but also offers a cost-saving solution with maximum ecological value.
Why choose Project Nekton?
At Project Nekton, we combine technical expertise, efficient project management, and a personal approach. With our experience in relighting projects across diverse sectors – from schools and sports facilities to healthcare and office environments – we can act quickly and deliver high-quality solutions tailored to each client’s specific context and needs.
We also specialise in smart lighting solutions that go beyond energy efficiency. Our systems support comfort, safety, remote management, and integration with broader smart building technologies.
A step forward we’re proud of
Finishing second in this competitive selection – among many strong candidates – confirms the craftsmanship and added value we bring to every project. We look forward to working with VEB and public organisations across Flanders to create sustainable impact, one project at a time.
