Loop 5, located in Ghent, Belgium, is a 50,000-square-meter mixed-use campus that exemplifies the integration of cutting-edge smart building technology to achieve a “zero friction” environment. Developed by Upgrade Estate, the campus includes 18,000 square meters of modern office spaces, 45 residential apartments, a unique hospitality concept with onsite dining, the Plectrum Theatre with a 250-guest capacity, and 15,000 square meters of parking facilities.
To manage this diverse ecosystem, Loop 5 leverages Trigrr, a flexible Building Operating System (BOS) that acts as the central nervous system of the complex. Trigrr integrates and controls multiple systems, including HVAC, lighting, IoT devices, AV technologies for meeting rooms and events, access control, and CCTV cameras. It also seamlessly connects with applications such as OfficeRnd for space management and Capacity for parking optimization.
As the integrator partner of Trigrr for Loop 5, Project Nekton played a pivotal role in implementing Trigrr’s capabilities across the campus. Our expertise ensured smooth integration of the various systems, enabling Trigrr’s rapid deployment and minimizing disruptions during the implementation phase. Our technical leadership ensured that Trigrr delivered its promise of scalability, intuitive operation, and cost-effectiveness.
Trigrr’s innovative design reduces dependency on specialized technicians, allowing generalist teams to manage systems efficiently, lowering staffing costs and enabling proactive maintenance. For asset managers overseeing multiple properties, Trigrr also acts as a portfolio operating system, offering centralized control and scalability to implement best practices across locations.
Loop 5 stands as a prime example of how smart building technology creates a seamlessly integrated environment, blending advanced technology with exceptional functionality.
